It’s some feat for a UAE-grown brand to be recognised in places such as Canada’s Prince Rupert and Punta Caucedo in the Dominican Republic, and DP World has done just that. A leading enabler of global trade and an integral part of the global supply chain, the company has developments underway in India, Africa, Europe and the Middle East.

The company’s core activity is container handling, which generates over three-quarters of its revenue, and it employs a staff of 37,000 from 110 countries. With its portfolio of 77 operating marine and inland terminals, which are supported by over 50 related businesses in 40 countries spanning six continents, DP World has a significant presence in both high-growth and mature markets. Its ambitious international expansion plans enable it to foster solid relationships with governments, shipping lines, importers, exporters and communities throughout the world.

The company’s national portfolio includes the Jebel Ali Port – the largest marine terminal in the Middle East – the Mina Rashid Cruise Terminal and the Coastal Berth, as well as Al Hamriya in Dubai. DP World also boasts an elaborate corporate citizenship programme. A key social initiative is its partnership with local charity Friends of Cancer Patients to support the men’s cancer initiative ‘Shanab’ at various events, such as the DP World Tour Championship held at Jumeirah Golf Estates.
