Alserkal Avenue

Established in 2007 as the region’s foremost arts hub, Alserkal Avenue seeks to encourage and support the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia’s burgeoning contemporary art scene. Starting with just 20 warehouses in Dubai’s industrial quarter, the hub now encompasses some of the region’s leading art galleries, project spaces, concept stores, event venues as well as a various other creative outlets and programmes across its 46,500 sq m.

Alserkal Avenue seeks to nurture an organic and prolific art community in the UAE through its integrated space, intensive programmes and art initiatives, which attract both artists and art enthusiasts from around the world. In 2015, the hub launched Alserkal Avenue Programming to encourage emerging artists in the region, such as Emirati Farah Al Qasimi and Saudi Raja’a Khalid.

The programme comprises commissions, talks and screenings that consistently display work of depth and creativity. Alserkal Avenue has established itself as the region’s go-to location for the creative community, hosting numerous emerging, mid-career and established artists in a collaborative environment.
